# 79 A Sign from Heaven - Matthew 16:1-4

We live in a day and age where people are looking for signs. Many people say that they will believe in God if He showed them a sign from heaven. In our text the Pharisees and Sadducees come to Jesus demanding that He show them a sign from heaven. A earthly sign could be replicated by Satan, but a heavenly sign cannot. Jesus called them a "wicked and adulterous generation", and told them that the only sign they would receive was that of the prophet Jonah. A future picture of Jesus death, burial, and resurrection. Which in reality is the ultimate sign of all.
