Kim & Debbie Alexander
Senior Pastor
Debbie and I have served here at SLBC for 27 wonderful years. We look forward to the next 20 plus years with great anticipation. The Lord has done great things, and we are glad! Prior to serving SLBC we were missionaries here in the States serving with Village Missions in South Dakota, Idaho, and Washington State. Our Pastor holds a Master’s in Theological Studies from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary. Kim enjoys writing and publishing, and he presently started a New Testament Commentary set for lay people (See Store). However, Their greatest accomplishment would be their five wonderful children – three sons, and two daughters. We also have been greatly blessed with our children’s spouse, and now our five wonderful grandchildren (It was a long time coming).
Debbie is highly motivated to reach today’s youth. She is involved in building tomorrows leaders today. She leads a ladies Bible study on Wednesday mornings. Debbie came to faith in Christ as a child, and has developed a very disciplined walk with the Lord. Her desire is to pass along her love for the Lord. This is seen in her contagious outgoing spirit.
Our pastor and wife are also very active physically. They love to run, and have participated in Spartan races. They recently finished their second Trifecta for 2017 at the Beast in Seattle on September 16, 2017.
Pastor Kim also loves to write, and has written over twelve books. You can find them under our resources page.

Becca Gable
Ministry Assistant
Becca has been attending Spirit Lake Baptist Church for approximately two and a half years. She enjoys being surrounded by her family. She is in awe of God’s beautiful earth and all of his creatures. Besides spending time in nature and with family, she is very involved volunteering, mentoring women, and with other groups who she has a chance to share Christ’s love and message with.
Jeff & Carla Floyd
Church Deacon
I gave my life to Christ in 1985 shortly before Carla and I were married. We have four adult children (three of them married), two grandchildren with another on the way and, prayerfully, more to come! We moved to Blanchard in 1994 and became members of SLBC in 1996 where we raised our family. Over the years, we have served in the the following ministries: Youth, Marriage, Disaster Relief, Missions; and other various areas wherever the Lord has directed. Jeff is now serving as a Deacon at SLBC.
Our hearts are burdened for marriages. We believe that strong godly marriages have a better chance of putting forth strong boldly children for generations to come. Jeff’s desire is to serve God wherever God calls him. Jeff is currently the Deacon serving with the Marriage Ministry, Disaster Relief Ministry, Safety Ministry, and the Mission’s Ministry. His life Bible passage is Ecclesiastes 12:13 – 14.

Sean & Virginia Hammond
Church Deacon
Sean was born in Helena, Montana and raised in Post Falls, Idaho. In 1994, he married his college sweetheart, Virginia, and they settled down in western Montana. In 2000, they welcomed their first child, Evrett, and in 2003, their son Nathan was born. In the fall of 2003, Sean and his family moved to Spirit Lake. Shortly after, they began attending Spirit Lake Baptist Church (SLBC).
One verse that reflects Sean’s life well is Ecclesiastes 3:13; “That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil; this is the gift of God.” Sean finds great satisfaction in his work as a timber faller and feels very blessed to live on timbered acreage in North Idaho. His hobbies include water skiing, hunting and tending to their tree farm.
Sean is a wonderful addition to our Deacon ministry staff. Sean is the Deacon serving with Men’s Ministry, Harvest Party Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Outreach Ministry.

Ted & Linda Gehrig
Church Deacon
Ted grew up learning all the Bible stories as a child, and made his decision to “own” his faith in the spring of 1980. He and Linda were married in 1986, and dedicated their lives to raising godly children – those in the community as well as their own four children. They did that through serving as board members in a co-op home-school group, Little League manager “forever”, Dance class helper, Speech and Debate coach, Sunday School teachers, and servants in various ministries at their church.
Ted and Linda have been living in Spirit Lake part-time, and part of SLBC since 2009. In 2021 they relocated permanently to North Idaho. They now have seven grand-children (none close!) and look forward to more new arrivals. As Ted enters retirement, he and Linda continue to look for ways to reach the community in Spirit Lake. They enjoy spending their time kayaking on the lake when they can, and hanging out with friends.
Ted’s life verses are Hebrews 12:1-2: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right had of the throne of God.”

Rick & Jenny Rees
Church Deacon
Rick was born and raised in southern California where he was blessed to be raised in a Christian family as well as a great church. Rick put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ when he was 8 years old. He met his amazing wife Jenny and was married in January of 1994. Rick retired after 33 years in the fire service. Rick and Jenny have 3 wonderful children who all love the Lord. Shane was born in 1997, Nathan was born in 2006 and Tyler was born in 2008. Jenny and I have been involved in ministry our entire marriage and have had the pleasure of serving on the praise team as well as teaching Sunday school and small groups within our home. We have both enjoyed working with Awanas both in California as well as here at SLBC. We both enjoyed overseeing the marriage ministry for many years also. Rick became a deacon in 2009 and then became an ordained minister in 2013 where he served as pastor until God called them to Northern Idaho in 2021. Rick’s life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 which says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight. Rick is the Deacon serving Awana,’s, Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry, Nursery and our Prayer Chain at Spirit Lake Baptist Church.
